Reflections of Avarice
The silver mirrored dream we chase,
In shadows long, the minds erase.
Greed's tempting whispers fill the air,
Reflections found in souls laid bare.
In hunger vast, the false delight,
Consuming all in endless night.
With empty hearts, we strive and strain,
Yet what remains is hollow gain.
The gilded cage, it shines so bright,
Yet traps our spirits in its might.
The more we grasp, the less we feel,
Our wounds too deep for gold to heal.
In twilight's gentle, waning light,
We seek the truth beyond our sight.
To find what lies beneath the crest,
Of greed that never grants us rest.
The echoes of a life well-worn,
In shadows where true selves are torn.
But there beneath the surface clear,
A humble heart can conquer fear.
